Frequently asked questions

Who can become a mentor?

Academics, researchers, and professionals with relevant experience in their field. Affiliations are reviewed and approved by the Committtee based on your credentials and background.

Do I have to be based in Türkiye?

No. The Society operates internationally and mentors can participate remotely.

Is this a paid role?

No. Mentors contribute voluntarily. This is a commitment to the next generation of researchers, not an employement agreement.

What happens after I apply?

Your application is reviewed directly by the Committee. You'll be contacted once reviewed.

What does being a mentor involve?

Primarly structured office hours sessions where you're available to members for guidance, feedback, and professional advice. We may also invite you to be a speaker at conferences and competitions. The time commitment is flexible.

Do I need to be professional or academic to apply?

Not necessarily. Mentor roles are based on demonstrated expertise and real-world impact in your field. If you've built something, led something, or have a track record worth sharing with our members, you are welcome to apply.

I'm a student, can I still apply as a mentor?

Yes, in exceptional cases. Please note that applications from younger candidates are subject to review by the same criteria as any other mentor.
